Data Entry

Data must be collected centrally each year in order for students to receive awards for their completion of the Challenge. In the case of government schools, data entry occurs through EDSAS or EMS. For non-government schools, data entry occurs through the Education Department’s application portal (EDU Portal). The data, once received, is added to the profile of each student and automatically updates their ‘medal status’. Following is a broad outline of the process for data entry. More specific details will be sent to coordinators.

Government Schools

Data entry for Government schools opens on Monday 22 July and closes on Friday 27 September 2024.

Students who have completed the Challenge for the year are to be entered via EDSAS or EMS before Friday 27 September 2024.

The approval of participants’ physical activity data will be from 22 July until 27 September 2024.

The approval process will occur via EDSAS or EMS, usually an SSO or site leader has access to this system.

You will not be required to send any records into the Premier’s be active Challenge office.

An email will be sent to the school’s PbaC coordinators with the Entering Premier’s be active Challenge Data into EDSAS Fact Sheet or EMS Premier’s be active Challenge Fact Sheet before the start of term 3. These fact sheets outline the steps required by schools to submit student data.

If you require any assistance with EDSAS or EMS, please contact the Department for Education ICT Service Desk on 8204 1866.

Non-Government Schools

Data entry for Non-Government schools opens on Monday 22 July and closes on Friday 27 September 2024.

Students who have completed the Challenge for the year are to have their data entered via the Education Department’s application portal (EDU Portal) before Friday 27 September 2024.

The approval of participants’ physical activity data will be from 22 July until 27 September 2024.

The approval process is through the EDU Portal and the school’s PbaC coordinators will be provided with an Education EdPass account username and password to access the EDU Portal to enter student data for the school.

An Education EdPass account username and password will be emailed to the school’s PbaC coordinators, in two separate emails before the start of term 3. These are valid only during the data entry period and last year’s username and password are on longer valid.

You will not be required to send any records into the Premier’s be active Challenge.

You are strongly advised to print the current Premier’s be active Challenge Non-Government Schools Data Entry Instructions before beginning the data entry process.

If you require any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the Premier’s be active Challenge team.
