Congratulations on participating in this, the 15th year of the Premier’s be active Challenge in South Australia.
I am challenging South Australian students from Reception to Year 12 to do 60 minutes of physical activity, 5 days per week for at least 4 weeks by 24 September 2021.
There is always some form of physical activity to get excited about and this year, hopefully, we will see the Olympic Games. The Premier’s be active Challenge, like the Olympics, rewards outstanding achievement. Students will earn their own medals and should feel proud of their efforts.
Over the years, The Premier’s be active Challenge has excelled, with 30,000 students from 210 schools completing the Challenge in 2020. Many students educated at home also took part in the Challenge. This is an outstanding achievement and I thank school staff and parents for your time and efforts in supporting children and their families to complete the Challenge.
The Challenge has been fortunate to have high profile and enthusiastic ambassadors who inspire students to enjoy being active and achieving their goals. Adelaide United Football Club, Adelaide Lightning Basketball Club, Adelaide 36ers Basketball Club, Port Adelaide Football Club, Adelaide Football Club, Thunderbirds Netball Club and SA Scorpions have also thrown their support behind the Premier’s be active Challenge and the Premier’s Reading Challenge as joint ambassador teams.
Information about the Challenge is available on the website www.pbac.sa.edu.au, by telephoning (08) 8226 2006, or by email at email@example.com. A school contact person is required to coordinate your school’s participation on behalf of all teachers, staff and students at your school.
I encourage all students to discover the joy of being active with the Premier’s be active Challenge. I wish you every success in 2021.
