The club and players recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy body and a healthy mind. That is why they have decided to support the Premier’s be active Challenge and the Premier’s Reading Challenge by becoming an ambassador team.

As a forward Bruce Djite explains: “It is extremely important to be active from a young age. With the lifestyle and weather that Australia offers it is easy to be out and about regularly. The benefits of being active should not be underestimated. As you grow older being active, physically and mentally becomes more and more important in order to sustain good quality of life. Reading is paramount in a bid to stay informed and educated on not only what’s happening in the world but books, magazines and newspapers are also a great way to educate yourself and keep your mind active by exercising it whilst reading. At the end of the day it’s all about being active both mentally and physically and I want everyone for the betterment of themselves and their community to be active to make for a healthier, educated and more informed society for us all to live in”

School visits:
  • Schools have the choice of either a skills session or a classroom visit and our A-League players attend both sessions.
  • Teachers must be in attendance for the duration of the visit.
Skill Session:
  • conducted using the small sided format to increase the amount of touches that the participants have whilst playing the games, therefore increasing their skill level
  • clinics are held in a fun and exciting environment so that the all-inclusive program gives everyone the opportunity to experience football and continue to play football no matter what skill level they have
  • interaction with the Reds A-League players
  • signing session & photograph opportunities
  • all participants receive Community giveaway items
Classroom session:
  • provide students with the opportunity to get up close and personal with the players and speak to them in a relaxed but informative environment
  • teachers create a football-based lesson whether it be using literacy or numeracy, using Adelaide United FC as the theme. This then leads into our visit and prepares the students for our classroom session and they have their questions prepared from the previous football structured lesson
  • photo and autograph session to finish off the visit
  • all participants receive a poster and Stratco Community giveaway items

If you would like to book a clinic for your school please go to the Adelaide United website, click on ‘Community programs’, then ‘School Form’ and download the request form.

2015 Asian Cup Education Program

AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015 Local Organising Committee has created an education program to help thousands of students develop their football skills as well as learn more about Australia’s relationship with Asia.

The resource consists of eight integrated units of work – four units at Years 3/4 and four units at Years 5/6 that focus on English, Mathematics, Art and Health and Physical Education. Each unit is themed with football and is designed to innovatively meet the national curriculums’ cross curriculum priority with Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia.

Teachers are invited to register for access to the resource at www.afcasiancup.com/education
