Lucinda Bueti - Wheelchair Basketball
Growing up I always played sports, it was a big part of who I was, I played every sport and always dreamed of playing at the highest level. Following a workplace injury, I was unable to participate in any sport which severely impacted my identity. Following years of treatment, I made the decision to amputate my leg which completely changed my life.
Following my amputation, I got back into sports starting with coaching soccer, then trying every sport that I could until I found wheelchair basketball. Since the first time I tried wheelchair basketball I loved it, within months of starting I was invited to my first Australian Gliders Camp, I have been a part of the program since 2022 and have competed in multiple tournaments including Osaka cup and the 2023 world championships.
