Shixin is Golden at Glenelg!

PE teacher Mel Arnold organised for a PBAC ambassador visit to inspire students to be active and to participate in the Challenge this year. Shixin Li, also known as Golden, visited Glenelg Primary.

On Friday, the 8th, March, the Year 5 & 6 students were honoured to meet Olympic diver Shixin Li as part of the Be Active Challenge.  Mr. Li shared with the students his life in China, and his remarkable career as a diver. Mr Li also shared the importance of embodying positive role model behaviours and responsible leadership qualities.

During his visit, Mr. Li brought along some of his medals which provided the year 5 and year 6 students a glimpse into his outstanding achievements as an elite diver. Mr Li also demonstrated a range of diving techniques and exercises which strengthen his body and prepare him for diving competitions.

Mr. Li’s visit was a tremendous opportunity for us to learn first-hand the mindset and qualities of a champion athlete. We express our gratitude to Mr Li for dedicating his time to inspire us and we extend our best wishes to him as he prepares for the upcoming Paris Olympics to be held in July. Go Shixin Li!
