Amber Pate - Cycling
I am a track and road cyclist with the South Australian Sports Institute.
Born and raised in Katherine, Northern Territory, I spent most my time outdoors and was involved in a variety of different sports and activities. At around 13 I choose to focus on swimming and trained with the local swimming club. A few times a week I would ride my road bike home 20km after swimming training and ride my horse in the evening. Above everything I loved being outdoors.
I spent 3 years at boarding school from the age of 15 and officially moved to Adelaide in 2015 for University, which is when started riding more. I started racing in cycling and triathlon in 2016, and chose to focus completely on cycling in 2019 to train with SASI. I love the sense of freedom cycling gives you and the different places you can explore.
