The Challenge – how do I get started?

Getting Started
The Premier’s be active Challenge is about encouraging students to be more active, more often. Participants are rewarded with medals if they complete at least 60 minutes of physical activity on at least 5 days per week for at least 4 weeks.

To commence:

Schools

  • Schools that have never participated in the Premier’s be active Challenge need to register
  • Schools that have participated in the Premier’s be active Challenge in the past should register again in 2024 to ensure correct details are recorded.
  • The first 250 schools that register in 2024 will receive a $100 physical activity pack.

Individuals

  • Students participating as part of a school do not need to register personally
  • Students wishing to participate from home, you do not need to register. Simply complete the recording booklet and submit it when complete.

Recording activity, submitting results and receiving awards are all addressed in the Challenge Guidelines.

The Ambassadors for the Premier’s be active Challenge all have one thing in common…they love being active! Our ambassadors are here to inspire children to enjoy physical activity and complete the challenge.

Student Recording

All students must record their physical activity to complete the Premier’s be active Challenge. There are a number of options available. Students may either record their activity in the:

These recording options are available to download as PDFs. Each student requires their record to be signed off by a parent, guardian or teacher.

2024 Key Dates

Every year, students have three full terms to complete the Challenge. The Challenge commences on the first day of the school year and concludes in week 10 of term 3.
Coordinators will receive an email regarding the data entry process and will have all of term 3 to submit student data. Participants can expect to receive their awards in mid-November.

  • Data submitted by schools before 27 September 2024
  • Home Schools and Families email or post their Recording Booklet/s before 27 September 2024.

November 2024
  • Awards arrive in schools by end of November
  • Home Schools and Families awards are posted to the home address
  • Students awarded medals at individual school presentations
  • The Premier’s be active Challenge Reception is held. Schools with outstanding results are invited to attend.
